Scope of Practice: Florida Licensed Nurse Practitioner

Kako Healthcare is operated by an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensed in the State of Florida. Nurse practitioners in Florida practice under a protocol agreement with a supervising or collaborating physician as required by Florida Statutes §464.012 and Florida Administrative Code Rule 64B9-4.010. A copy of the current protocol agreement is available upon request.

Direct Primary Care: Not Health Insurance

Kako Healthcare operates as a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice. Membership fees paid to Kako Healthcare are not health insurance and do not satisfy any health insurance mandate under state or federal law. Members are encouraged to maintain a separate health insurance policy or health-sharing plan for specialist referrals, hospitalizations, imaging, laboratory services not included in the membership, and other services outside the scope of this practice.

No Emergency Medical Services

Kako Healthcare does not provide emergency medical services. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Do not use this website, the appointment request form, or any messaging channel to communicate urgent or life-threatening medical concerns.

Telehealth Services

Telehealth services are provided in accordance with Florida Statutes §456.47 and applicable Florida Department of Health rules. Telehealth visits are subject to the same standard of care as in-person visits. Patients must be physically located in the State of Florida at the time of a telehealth encounter unless otherwise permitted by applicable law and the provider's licensure.

Privacy & HIPAA Notice

Kako Healthcare is a covered entity under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Your protected health information (PHI) is collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available upon request and will be provided at your first visit. By submitting the appointment request form, you consent to being contacted by Kako Healthcare for scheduling and care coordination purposes.

No Provider-Patient Relationship Until Established

Submitting an appointment request through this website does not establish a provider-patient relationship. A provider-patient relationship is established only upon completion of a formal intake, execution of a membership agreement, and the provider's acceptance of the patient into the practice.

Prescription & Controlled Substance Policy

Prescribing authority is exercised in accordance with Florida Statutes §464.012 and applicable DEA regulations. Kako Healthcare does not prescribe controlled substances via telehealth for patients who have not been evaluated in person, except as permitted by applicable federal and state law. All prescribing decisions are made at the sole clinical discretion of the provider.
